Ollie Dixon, 17, Salisbury UK…
About Ollie Dixon
Started playing drums at the age of 11, and quickly passed Grade 2 drums. Joined a band soon after with some friends, which practised in a local church. This was the foundation of current band, Subciety, which came about after a small line-up change. Then relocated to a practise room in Salisbury, the nearby city.
Then joined a Shrewton Silver Band, firstly as 3rd percussionist, then taking over on the drum kit. With the silver band, went to the regional finals in Torquay and came second, earning a promotion from second group to the first group, and a place in the national finals in Harrogate in September 2010, representing the South West of England.
Currently plays a Roland TD-6 electric kit to keep the neighbours happy, but owns a set of Sabian B8’s for gigs and uses Mapex and Pearl hardware and, most importantly, a Shine Definition Kit.
Love playing drums, much to the annoyance of everyone who knows me, but I have been well supported throughout my short drumming career and hope that I will be as I carry on!
